Green Mountain was periodically leased by the Colorado Army National Guard for pre-WWII military training between 1903 and 1939, which included everything from small arms to live-fire artillery training on the north and east sides of the mountain. Cleanups continue today.

Dry Storage, a company based in Boulder, Colo., is working to bring local grains back into the supply chain by partnering with local farmers and milling their wheat. They have been able to incorporate local grains into their products, such as their Sonoran sandwich loaf, and are working to scale their operations to offer competitively priced flour.
