Oh鈥� and that smell. A new image campaign is hoping to change your mind by proving that Greeley isn鈥檛 what you expected.
The has launched a new image campaign in hopes of dispelling what some local officials are calling old stereotypes and misperceptions.

鈥淩ather than complain about the negative we thought we should tell them about the positives. There鈥檚 lots here to brag about,鈥� says Greeley Mayor .
That led to the creation of an advertising campaign and the city鈥檚 new slogan 鈥淕reeley Unexpected.鈥� It will replace the nearly decade old catch phrase 鈥淕reeley: Great. From the Ground Up.鈥�
One of the main components of the image campaign is the . Currently the site profiles some of the city鈥檚 unique residents and business owners, like . Other notables include the city鈥檚 educational opportunities, outdoor amenities, and arts and culture offerings.
The funding for $260,000 yearlong campaign comes mostly from the city鈥檚 lodging tax paid by those who stay at a local hotel or motel.
There will be a statewide reach for the campaign.
You may notice advertisements over the next five months of 鈥楪reeley Unexpected鈥� at Denver International Airport, metro Denver, and along the North Front Range including billboards, bench ads, bus shelters ads and television and radio commercials.
